According to some insider reports, Yahoo Inc. has started looking for a new CEO and the board of directors have asked several executive search firms for help in this matter. Furthermore, sources have confirmed that the company is looking for buyout offers and even seriously considering some offers which were previously made by some big tech companies.

This move has been made in order to find an executive who could either change the game for the company or could help in selling whole of the business or some part efficiently. But the priority is given to the sale of the company by the board of directors. China’s Web Population Crosses 500 Million Mark

Now, the web population of China has crossed the 500 Million mark, which is more than the total population of some countries. Nokia To Cut 3,500 Manufacturing Jobs

Nokia is going to cut down 3,500 manufacturing jobs in order to cut down the costs involved in the manufacturing process. Earlier this year, Nokia has already announced that it will subsequently cut 6,800 research and development jobs and now with an additional 3,500 jobs, this number has risen to 10,300. Facebook Fixes Privacy Glitch

Facebook has fixed a security ‘glitch’ which enabled it to track users even after they were logged out. This glitch occurred due to the Facebook cookies which tracked activities of the users. This issue was first raised by an Australian blogger, who is an expert in security issues and has kept an eye on Facebook’s use of cookies for more than a year.

Nik Cubrilovic, the Australian blogger who first found out this security issue, stated that Facebook cookies behave in a suspicious way when a user logs out of his account. Instead of deleting themselves, they just modify their form and keep on collecting the data and the web history of the user. He did not say whether this data was being used by Facebook or not.

An Austrian hacker group has published the personal details and information of more than 25,000 police officers on its website. This move by hackers is being criticized a lot as it will compromise the security of those police officers as well as their respective families. The information was first made available via the twitter account of the hacker group and it was later made available for download.

The leaked data is in the form of a searchable database which contains personal and identity information of the police officers ranging from beat officers to senior commanders in rank. Now their security is at risk; thanks to the personal information made public by the hacker group as criminals might use that information for a revenge attack on those officers. This move was condemned by the Police union official Walter Scharinger.
