Samsung Seeks iPhone 4S Sales Ban

After the sad demise of the Apple’s former Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs, the whole world was thinking that this tragic event might end the ongoing war between Samsung and Apple Inc., but it seems that Samsung is in no mood to settle the matter with its top rival as it is seeking a ban on sales of the iPhone 4S in Japan and Australia. And what is more, Samsung is also doing the same for some of the other Apple products in France and Italy.

It should be noted that Apple is doing the same thing against Samsung. In fact, Apple Inc. has got an upper hand in this battle as it has successfully secured a ban of Samsung’s Galaxy range in Australia and Germany. Germany is the biggest economy of Europe and that means that Samsung really has suffered a lot due to that ban.

Even in the last week, a judge in the United Stated ruled out that Samsung’s products infringed the patents owned by Apple Inc. but she at the same time stated that Apple will have to prove the validity of those patents if it wants an injunction to ban the sale of Samsung Galaxy tab.

Samsung has stated in a statement that,”Apple has continued to violate our patent rights and free ride on our technology, and we will no longer stand idly by and will steadfastly protect our intellectual property,”. According to this statement, Samsung claims that this is an intellectual property theft and if by chance it proves this in the federal court, then Apple Inc. will be in deep trouble, not financially but yes its reputation as the leading innovator in the tech industry will be diminished.

As Apple continues to score victory after victory in this ‘battle of patents’, Samsung has not been able to do more than appealing and pleading. Samsung’s plea asking for a ban on Apple products was rejected by a dutch court last Friday.

It will be really interesting to see the next move of these tech giants and particularly Samsung as it is really furious after its defeat in this war.
