Blackberry Could Loose Customers After Network Outage

Blackberry is on the verge of losing a lot of customers following this week’s global and massive network outage. And what is more, the most loyal Blackberry users, the corporate guys are now shifting to the iPhone and other iDevices because of the better service provided by Apple Inc. as compared to RIM (Research In Motion). Though the Blackberry network is considered safest by most of the users, the network outage has finally proved that even the most secure network can also be a pain to the users.

Blackberry used to be the first choice in the corporate sectors but ever since the iPhone has emerged as the king of smartphones, Blackberry has lost the position it enjoyed before the arrival of the iPhone.

Not just iDevices are posing a threat to the future of Blackberry. According to some recent statistics, the Android based handsets, which are generally cheap in price and have a rich feature set, are also giving Blackberry a run for money.

This week’s network outage is one of the main reasons behind Blackberry’s fall. It should be noted that this outage not occurred just in one or two countries. Rather most of the countries were affected by this network failure.

RIM uses its own data centers for the transmission and receiving texts, messages, IMs and other things. RIM claims that this thing helps in making the transmission more secure and reliable but the main thing here is that since all the transmission is taking place at a single place, it also very risky because if there occurs a problem at that data center, then whole of the transmissions will get affected.

Earlier, Apple’s iPhone and various Android hanedsets were accused of being less secure, but now the time has changed. Apple has modified its iOS upto such an extent that it is now very tough to breach its security. And Android is known for its periodic updates and that thing helps a lot in improving security features.

It is crystal clear that if RIM doesn’t introduce a breakthrough technology quickly, Blackberry will meet its end and it will be very sad to see the end of the pioneer of modern day smartphones.
